Patients will need a consultation for this treatment as it is not suitable for anyone with skin laxity or puffy eyes caused by excess fluid or poor lymphatic drainage. Under eye filler also does not lighten pigmentation, however tear troughs can cause shadowing under the eyes and by lifting the tear trough using dermal filler this in-turn can have a lightening effect on those dark areas. The procedure is carried out using cannula and is virtually pain free. Topical numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment if required however is usually not necessary. Cold compress is also applied to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising. in most cases bruising is minimal to non but with any injection procedure bruising and swelling can often occur so please bear this in mind when choosing a time to have the procedure.
